I am hoping you can help me to get to the right people. We have sent
numerous e-mails and brochures to leaders at Tribal Colleges and other
Minority Serving Institutions; however, we can never be sure if they
reach the faculty who are actually doing the work. Hopefully you can
assist me to reach these people.
I am the director of our faculty development center and we are
sponsoring our 3rd annual Teaching and Learning for Empowerment
Conference: A Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference for
Minority Serving Institutions and Institutions Serving Minorities .
In
the past we have had a liaison from Tribal Colleges who contacted
faculty directly. This year the liaison system broke down and we were
left to contact the leaders-Deans, Provosts, Presidents. As you know,
not always is information filtered to those who need it in a timely
fashion. We realized this when we only received two proposals.
I am hoping that you will send this to faculty at your institution who
might be conducting research related to teaching and learning issues
based on your and/or other students. If they are interested we are
willing to extend the deadline to October 1.
I hope you will assist us to find this voice and perspective to be
represented at the conference.
In advance, thank you for your assistance.
Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers [and
sisters]
, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
